We were proud to welcome MP John Healey to our Friday drop-in, where he had the opportunity to meet local veterans and see the work we do up close.

The morning began with a short presentation about the support we provide across the community, followed by a powerful video featuring real stories from some of the veterans who attend the drop-in. Their words captured the true value of connection, understanding, and consistent support.

As a gesture of appreciation, we presented John with one of our limited edition VE Day commemorative coins — a small thank you for his ongoing support of our veteran community. He then spent time speaking with the veterans directly, listening to their experiences, showing genuine interest in their stories and answering their questions.

Also attending the drop-in were Ann Asquith and Helen Ibbotson, both familiar faces who continue to show interest in the work we do and the people we support.

We’re always grateful to have visitors, but this was more than a visit – it was a reminder of the importance of community, recognition, and being heard.
