This is a great opportunity to join our team at HMP Doncaster. As a Together Forces Co-ordinator you will be responsible for recruiting and co-ordinating a pool of 15 volunteer mentors that will provide support in custody to people who have served in the armed forces. You will also be responsible for the collation of statistics and producing monthly reports to monitor on-going success.

 

As a Together Forces Co-ordinator you will:

 

Coordinate a pool of 15 volunteer mentors.

Create a training package as part of the volunteer’s induction to Catch22.

Work closely with CRC tier 2 providers ensuring all intervention are in line with the through the gate support plan.

To plan and run group support sessions.

Create and maintain volunteer files.

To support with coordinating activities in the community as and when required.

Coordinate a volunteering service acknowledging and adhering to all Catch22 policies and procedures.

To maintain an interest and good working knowledge of benefits, training/employment, housing, and any relevant factor associated with reducing the risk of re-offending.

To monitor and review, on a regular basis, individual veteran’s progress and response to the work undertaken with them, as they progress along their sentence.

To prepare and maintain appropriate written and I.T. records on P-Nomis, information and reports on the work as and when required. Respond to prisoners messages through the CMS process.

To provide advice, information and support to agency professionals and prisoners about the nature of the service, i.e. Assessment procedure, services offered, etc.

To attend and contribute to Team and Service meetings as appropriate.

To attend and be committed to ongoing regular supervision.

To undertake any other duties within the purview of the post as and when required.

 

To succeed as a Together Forces Co-ordinator, you must have:

 

Experience of working with vulnerable people.

A good understanding of the needs of ex-military offenders.

Experience of report writing either from an educational or career background.

Ability to work on an inter-agency basis.

The ability to contribute to ongoing assessments of the support needs of under-supported individuals.

Ability to demonstrate empathy with those suffering discrimination and disadvantage.
