JOB DESCRIPTION
MCVC are seeking an individual with the suitable skill sets to work with and support those working with and mentoring ex-offenders. MCVC have a number of mentors who are engaged in prison in-reach activity, and who support offenders after release from custody. We are looking to expand this important support network and will need a project manager who can build upon the work already established, improve service delivery and contribute to the future sustainability of the project.
The successful candidate will have some previous experience of dealing with charitable and support organisations with an awareness of offender management. It will be desirable to have a good awareness of the full range of dependencies, in particular drug and alcohol misuse.
The successful candidate will be a person who has the ability to enthuse and motivate a volunteer group, generate interest in the project and manage the small team of mentors. You will have a confident manner, good interpersonal skills and a flair for innovative methods of supporting individuals who often will have chaotic lifestyles. Previous military service is desirable but not essential.
MCVC are looking to build on a successful start to this project and will be supportive of the right applicant. We will be happy to discuss working patterns outside of the Wednesdays and Friday mornings which are essential periods of work.
