Outreach Project manager

Salary: c£22k which can be negotiated to suit the right candidate.
Location:The project covers the South Yorkshire regional area. The daily working location will be determined by the work required and agreement with the project sponsor.
Hours and Working Pattern: Full time, to include Friday mornings at the MCVC Drop in session, remainder by arrangement to suit job requirements. There may be a requirement to work some weekend days and evenings occasionally.
Term of Employment: Two-year initial contract with a six month probationary period. Possibility of extending, subject to demonstrating project success and continuing funding.
JOB DESCRIPTION
MCVC are seeking an individual with the suitable skill sets to work developing the MCVC outreach program. The project manager will develop current policy, link with the veteran champions of Sheffield, Doncaster, Barnsley and Rotherham councils and the numerous veteran organisations and charitable groups in the region. In addition, the project manager will be responsible for the training and management of a volunteer workforce, plan and coordinate outreach bookings and deliver outreach presentations, maintain records and keep statistics and develop existing veterans support network.
Successful candidates will have some previous experience of dealing with charitable and support organisations and preferably a sound understanding of the veteran’s landscape. The successful candidate will be a self-starter and a person who has the ability to enthuse and motivate a volunteer group, generate interest in the project and manage the small team of mentors. A confident manner, good interpersonal skills and a flair for innovative methods of supporting individuals and sound administrative ability will also be required. Previous military service is desirable but not essential.
