Works to start on College Street Public Realm

The next stage of improvements to the town centre’s open spaces as part of the Masterplan are due to start next week on College Street.

This will see the introduction of new on-street pay and display parking bays, as well as new landscaping and seating, with feature lighting already installed.

This follows on from the Phase One works on Bridgegate which are expected to be completed as the improvements to College Street begin.

Demolition of former Primark building underway

Meanwhile on High Street, the demolition of the former Primark building is now well underway. Plans for the site include the creation of a pocket park and high-quality public space in the short term. Longer term plans are in development to deliver more quality town centre living opportunities.
