Rotherham Military Community Veterans Centre (MCVC) is proud to announce that we have been selected as one of the Mayor of Rotherham’s chosen charities for the 2026–2027 mayoral year.

The Mayor, Councillor Haroon Rashid, has chosen four local charities to support throughout his year in office, recognising the vital role they play in improving the lives of people across the borough. We are honoured that MCVC has been selected alongside three other outstanding organisations.

“Being selected as one of the Mayor’s charities is a tremendous honour for everyone at MCVC,” said Major (Retd) Adrian Hunt KVRM DL, Chair of Trustees. “It provides an opportunity to raise awareness of the support available to veterans and their families whilst strengthening partnerships across the borough.”

This recognition is a significant milestone for MCVC and reflects the dedication of our volunteers, staff and, most importantly, the veterans and families who make our community what it is. Every day, we work to ensure that those who have served are able to access support, friendship and opportunities in a welcoming environment where nobody faces life’s challenges alone.

Councillor Rashid has spoken of his family’s strong military connections and the importance of supporting the Armed Forces community, making this recognition particularly meaningful. Throughout the coming year, we look forward to working alongside the Mayor at a range of civic and community events, helping to raise awareness of the services available to veterans and their families across Rotherham.

Being named as one of the Mayor’s charities provides a fantastic opportunity to showcase the work of MCVC, reach more veterans who may need our support and strengthen the partnerships that allow us to continue making a positive difference within our community.

We would like to thank the Mayor for placing his trust in MCVC and for recognising the work carried out by our incredible team of volunteers. We also extend our congratulations to the other charities selected and look forward to working together over the coming year to support communities across Rotherham.

As always, we would like to thank everyone who continues to support MCVC. Your generosity, encouragement and commitment enable us to continue serving those who have served us.
