Rotherham Remembers 1918 – 2018 Handmade poppies from all over the world will be on display as Rotherham’s market hall turns red to mark the centenary of the end of World War One. The Rotherham Poppy Cascade will be officially launched on Monday 22 October, when the display of more than 14,000 lovingly hand-crafted poppies will be unveiled to the public and the Mayor of Rotherham, Cllr Allan Buckley, will unveil a “Rotherham Remembers” wall of fallen heroes. The poppies, knitted, sewed and crocheted by volunteers, then hand-sewn onto a hessian background, have been created by local groups and individuals and by people from further afield – including countries as far away as Australia and the USA. The display will be available to view in Rotherham’s indoor market from October 22 until November 17. Other dates to note:
